This is the very fine George Catlin. Mr. Catlin started off as a lawyer, who was taught by Tapping Reeve at the first law school in the United States, the Litchfield Law School. After two years as a practicing lawyer, he “resolved to convert my law library into paint pots and brushes.” After studying art in Philadelphia, he traveled across the continent to study and paint the native peoples. Cultured and sexy.
